Die Wêreldbewaringsunie (IUCN) lys die Titicacawaterpadda (Telmatobius culeus) as ‘n kritiek bedreigde spesie, tog is dié paddas die hoofbestandeel van ‘n sap wat sommige Andes-kulture drink vir ‘n menigte kwale, onder andere: asma, brongitis, traagheid en lae seksdrang.

The Titicaca water frog (Telmatobius culeus) was named a critically endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and yet it is used by some Andean cultures in a drink that is believed to cure a range of human illnesses including asthma, bronchitis, inertia and low libido.
